In order to be eligible for the position, a candidate must:
1. Be a student at the University of Kentucky, in good academic standing
2. Be in good disciplinary standing at the University of Kentucky

Experience in customer service within a detail oriented environment.

Hours per Week

15-35 hours per week.

1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd shifts for desk hours, special assignments requiring work during the day, evening, and on weekends, as well as on-call hours. Conference season runs from May to August.

Job Summary

YOU MUST A CURRENT UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY STUDENT TO APPLY FOR THIS POSITION

NOTE: International students with Official Social Security Number can apply for this position.

Provide security for buildings by screening of visitors; answer incoming calls; distribute keys/building access cards to campers; distribute and bundle linens; assist with conference preparation duties and check ins/outs; respond to building emergencies according to procedures; serve on an on-call rotation; maintain complete and accurate logs; communicate custodial and maintenance issues to appropriate staff members; provide general information and guidance to guests/camp coordinators; provide excellent customer service; maintain a positive attitude with all guests and staff; and other duties as assigned.

May be required to walk long distances or sit for long periods of time. May be required to walk up and down stairs. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. May be required to perform physical activities in a housing facility environment. Ability to work effectively in stressful and high pressure situations. May be required to stay longer than shift on occasion.
