Required Education

Ph.D. in chemical/mechanical/other engineering disciplines, materials science, pharmaceutics, polymer science, physics, mathematics, or chemistry.

Required Related Experience

Preferred but not mandatory: Computational fluid dynamics (preferred), multi-variate analysis, understanding of oral absorption, PK simulation.

Job Summary

The Marsac Laboratory at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY is seeking a candidate with experience in computational fluid dynamics / finite element analysis, solid state sciences / materials science. The position will focus on the development of poorly soluble active pharmaceutical ingredients as solid oral dosage forms. High resolution imaging approaches will be leveraged to characterize novel formulations and link processing and formulation to product performance. As such, select product performance measures will also be developed and may include the use of select dissolution and flux measurements as a precursor to understanding performance in vivo. The candidate may also be involved in developing models aimed at understanding mass transport in the gastrointestinal tract.
