Job Summary

A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a motivated, ambitious, and talented scientist at the University of Kentucky to study the mechanisms of aortic aneurysms in the Subramanian lab. Our laboratory mainly focuses on the role of calpains (J Cardiovasc Phamacol, 2012, PMID: 21964156; PLoS One 2013, PMID: 23977256; Arterioscler Thromb Vasc Biol, 2016, PMID: 26966280) in the development of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
Small laboratory animal models, molecular biology, biochemistry and pathology techniques are the main research approaches for these studies. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field, and strong background in small animal model systems, cell culture, biochemical and molecular biology techniques. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team is essential.
