Physical Requirements

Lifting and transporting patients by bed, stretcher and/or wheelchair. Ability to lift, push and pull weight greater than 50 pounds. Ability to deliver materials and supplies as well as the safe transport of laboratory specimens.

Shift

1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Typically Monday – Friday or Weekend shift with availability to work holidays.

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant Transporter will support the movement of patients throughout the hospitals and clinic areas. The Nursing Assistant transporter will be responsible for assisting in lifting and transporting patients and/or equipment using proper body mechanics, safe operation of equipment, and use of computer tracking program. The transporter will treat all customers and clinical staff with respect and courtesy. Responsibilities also include organizing, tracking, and storing of equipment. Appropriate infection control practices will also be followed.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Basic computer knowledge. Ability to prioritize and use good judgement. Ability to use good customer service skills and phone etiquette.
