Requires heavy lifting lifting, pushing or pulling of objects over 50 pounds; standing/walking for long periods of time, and repetitive motions

Shift

Monday – Friday; 7:00am – 3:30pm; will include some weekends and on-call

Job Summary

Provide daily care of laboratory animals, including feeding, watering, changing bedding and cages, and administering medication as required; recognize and identify animals in distress or unhealthy condition; receive/unpack animal shipments, enter information in written and computerized records, participate in sentinel/health monitoring program.

Cleans and sanitizes rooms, support areas, surfaces and fixtures on schedule, remove trash, restock disposable supplies, assist in cage washing, autoclaving of equipment and supplies. Must be able to lift 7 – 50 lbs. and work in hot, wet areas.

30 hrs of animal/science course work or ALAT certification
