Job Summary

An assistant is sought to help coordinate a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute for School Teachers on Addiction in American History, to take place from June 10-29, 2018, at the University of Kentucky. The institute will feature lectures by visiting faculty in the subject area as well as pedagogy workshops, film screenings, and field trips. The assistant will:

- Develop a social media presence in advance of the institute and assist with managing media related to the institute promotion and events - Establish and manage the Canvas page for institute readings and assignments - Manage participant registration and serve as the on-site contact for participants - Serve as the on-site contact for guest faculty - Orient participants to the campus and local surroundings - Attend all institute events and assist with coordinating event logistics (e.g. technology, transportation, etc) as needed

This is a great opportunity for students with teaching interests in faculty development, K-12 education, and public scholarship, and/or with research interests in 20th century US social, political, or medical history. Facility with social media is required.
